You’re granted 1 wish, what would it be?

Everyone has fantasized about it…

You’re walking down a white sand beach next to the crystal blue waters of some deserted Caribbean island, when you stumble over the top of something sticking out of the sand.

It looks like an old piece of metal.

But then, you reach down and dust all the sand from around the piece of metal and discover an old lamp of some kind.

It must be centuries old…

As you rub the side of the lamp in an effort to clean it up, a cloud of smoke rises from the lamp, and an enormous magical genie suddenly appears.

Just before you pass out from shock, you hear the genie speak to you in a deep, thunderous voice…

“You have freed me from centuries of isolation, trapped inside the lamp. To show my gratitude, I will grant you
1 wish. It can be anything you desire. What shall it be?”

Ok…this is it!

Your big chance.

You have 1 wish…not 3…just 1… and it can be anything in the world you’ve ever dreamed of.

Your life will never be the same…

Don’t blow it!!!

Ok, you’ve got it…the one perfect wish. You look up at the genie, and shout at the top of your lungs…

“I wish for (insert your wish here)!”

For many, the pressure of coming up with the 1 perfect wish would be a daunting task.

Most would choose obnoxious wealth…certainly a logical choice.

For me, I wouldn’t have to think twice about it.

My answer would be immediate.

My wish:

** I want to know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING! **

That’s right…I want KNOWLEDGE. And I want ALL of it!

Because…

As the 16th century English Philosopher Sir. Francis Bacon once said…”Knowledge is Power”.

With knowledge you can write your own ticket.

You can have just about anything in the world your mind can imagine…wealth, power, you name it.

Knowledge, when put into action, gives you unlimited wishes.

Unfortunately, I doubt any of us will ever stumble across a magical genie to grant that wish of knowledge, so we have to go about getting it the hard way.

We go to school, we go to workshops, we go to seminars, we subscribe to magazines, we buy home study courses, and of course we read books.

I literally spend tens of thousands of dollars every year in furthering my education.

I’m obsessed with learning.

I could spend the entire day in the local book store, browsing through all the latest buiness related books, picking out the best ones to add to my book shelf.

Books that will give me the insight I need to take my business, and my life, to the levels I dream about.

But there is a problem.

It seems there is always something getting in the way of reading those new books on the bookshelf.

Actually, there’s always something getting in the way of reading those “OLD’ books on the bookshelf!

LIFE!

Life keeps happening, and the bookshelf keeps expanding…with unread books!

It’s just impossible to find the time anymore, given all that life throws at you every day.

Sitting down and reading a book is a luxury that only seems possible on the occasional vacation getaway.

God…I wish someone would just read all those great books for me, and then once a week, take 10 minutes to sit down and tell me everything I needed to know from those books.

They could give me all the wisdom from the books…

They could give me an analysis from a small business owner’s perspective…

They could emphasize all the life changing “Ah-Ha” moments from the books…

They could give me action plans from the books, along with specific delegation strategies for implementing the plans…

Can you imagine how powerful that would be?

Well, guess what?

Someone just granted my wish!

The ‘Power of Knowledge’ in 10 minutes per week, for less than the price of a cup of coffee.

I was totally blown away when I first saw this, and am so excited to be a part of it. You will be too.

As much as I hate the phrase “No-brainer”…if there has ever been one…this is it.

If KNOWLEDGE is your wish…go grant it now:

I am agree with you that knowledge is essential in our life. Me myself love to learn everything that will make my life better. I love to learn and be taught by others who already experience all the things that i need to know in order for me to get better and better with my life.

For me to have a knowledge is far greater to have a lot of money. Money won’t help me improve what i need to do but knowledge will help me to on how to use that money to improve my life.

I WISH I knew how to do Keyword Research!

I am sick to death of the 1-5 hits a day. I want to know how to get 100’s a day for any niche chosen.

I would go for the end result of what we are striving for, and that is…HAPPINESS. When you are happy, you can take whatever comes with a smile. And yet, we tend tend to think that simply getting “things” is THE key. That may help, but I’d still go for the real thing…

Keith, thanks for the well-written post. Most enjoyable. My wish would be to get one wish per day until I get it right! Who knows what you could learn along the way?

Yisel @ 11:08 am

I would add Applied knowledge is power. Knowledge without action is useless.

vpsmalhotra @ 11:15 am

knowledge is power to get what ever you want to get,do or be ! Without knowledge you are nobody knowledge encompasses everything which ful fill all the wisshes withut knowledge we are dead pans

Tracy @ 11:19 am

My wish would be that my Dad was still alive. He was my mentor.

Tracy

Mark @ 11:43 am

I wish i would be able to turn the clock back and spent more time with my daughter while she was growing up

Ron @ 11:55 am

Knowledge is good but what you do with it means more…
I would go for wisdom .

Bill @ 12:50 pm

Applied knowledge is power, so they say. It the hard part seems to be knowing how to use what you learn. Cheers!

Nan Woodward @ 2:21 pm

I want to know a heck of a lot about selected things. I’m on your page but want to leave room for growth.

I particularly want connections to good online folks - build relationships.

Nan Woodward

Valerie B Knotts @ 2:25 pm

An excellent point! If you don’t apply it, Knowledge just becomes something “nice to know”

Eddie @ 2:28 pm

I would wish that it really could be on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Bob Richold @ 3:38 pm

Except for Buddy S. everyone appears so philosophical. It seems to me that if you “Know Everything About Everything” you by default know about Applied Knowledge and Wisdom. I feel compassion for Tracy and Mark because their wishes are “heart sourced.” Mine, if I didn’t hesitate too much to loose time would be along the lines of everyone “Paying It Forward”. To borrow from part of a heartfelt story “What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.” “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” Wow Did I Say Everyone Else Seemed Philosophical? But then again that is what networking is all about, isn’t it?

GlenF @ 5:31 pm

Hey Ron,
Great post.
Yes, Wisdom is the highest. Why?
Because wisdom is when the know to use your knowledge.

Even greater than wisdom is ‘knowing’ because knowledge is past tense… Knowing is now!!!!!!!!!!!!

lee @ 6:32 pm

I like Einsteins take . “imagination is more important than knowledge” .

Holly Powell @ 8:45 pm

Keith, I love this post. Knowledge is power yes; however, some folks have the knowledge but never apply it. So my wish would be yes, to know everything about everything and know how to apply that knowledge. Wait is that two wishes?

Holly

Don Bethune @ 8:45 pm

Bob, you nailed it.

If you ‘Know Everything About Everything’, then by default you absolutely know how to best apply said knowledge for it’s maximum possible benefit…wealth, wisdom, charity, etc.

Don

Glenys @ 12:46 am

I would go for good health so I could keep on acquiring knowledge and wisdom - I love reading and being able to apply it.

Peter @ 3:27 am

Pretty good subject, this philosophy. A great philosopher I know said that knowledge is certainty, in that it might be great (or completely useless) to know facts, but it is what you are certain about, what is true, what is effective, that counts.
